Motorcycles & Scooters

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation
One of the many organizations Honda works with, the MSF offers courses across the country where you can learn and develop the ability to ride safely and successfully. The MSF's courses offer insight into effective turning and braking, protective gear, traffic strategies, special riding situations, pre-ride checks and evasive maneuvers. In addition to training, the MSF also provides information on operator licensing and government regulations.

The "Enrollment Express System" and a redesigned training curriculum have contributed to make access to our training easier than ever. For the address of the MSF training site nearest you, visit their Web site at http://www.msf-usa.org or call (800) 446-9227.

ATVs

Honda is affiliated with two organizations dedicated to teaching ATV riders not only tips for safer riding, but off-road laws and responsibilities pertaining to the environment.

Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (SVIA)
The SVIA was formed in 1983 to foster and promote the safe and responsible use of specialty vehicles manufactured or distributed in the United States. The SVIA has developed and implemented a national ATV rider-safety training program. SVIA continues to monitor ATV voluntary standards, promote responsible ATV legislation, and serve as a liaison with state and Federal agencies on environmental issues.

ATV Safety Institute (ASI)
The ASI, a division of the SVIA, was formed in 1988 to implement an expanded national program of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety education and awareness, based on SVIA safety programs developed since 1983. The ASI also offers an extensive array of safety publications to promote the safe and responsible use of ATVs. For information on the ATV RiderCourse and other ASI safety programs visit their Web site at http://www.atvsafety.org/ or call (800) 887-2887.

Personal Watercraft

Personal Watercraft Industry Assoc. (PWIA)
The Personal Watercraft Industry Association (PWIA) was formed in 1987 as an affiliate of the National Marine Manufacturers Association. It was created to bring together companies that manufacture personal watercraft (PWC) in order to promote safe and responsible operation of personal watercraft and work with federal, state and local agencies that have regulatory responsibilities for recreational boating. For issues concerning personal watercraft model legislation, boating safety and education, emissions, and sound or items of interest such as, quotes, articles and photos, visit their Web site at http://www.pwia.org or call (202) 721-1621.

U.S. Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety
The U.S. Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety (G-OPB) is dedicated to reducing loss of life, injuries and property damage that occur on U.S. waterways by improving the knowledge, skills and abilities of recreational boaters. For more information visit their Web site at http://www.uscgboating.org.
